Can I Get a Rent2Buy Van If I Live Outside Southampton?

Rent2Buy is normally available to customers who live within approximately 100 miles of Southampton.

This means customers in nearby parts of Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire and some surrounding areas may fall within the normal operating area. Customers much farther away, including many parts of the Midlands, northern England, Scotland and Wales, are unlikely to meet the usual location requirement.

The distance rule is not based only on whether you are willing to travel once. It forms part of the way the Rent2Buy service is operated and supported throughout the agreement.

Why Does Rent2Buy Have a Distance Limit?

Rent2Buy is a rental-to-ownership agreement rather than ordinary vehicle finance.

During the agreement, the vehicle remains owned by Vansco Limited. The customer uses the van, makes the agreed monthly payments and takes responsibility for matters such as insurance, servicing, maintenance and mileage.

Keeping customers within a reasonable distance helps support:

• Vehicle collection and handover

• Agreement administration

• Vehicle tracking and security

• Warranty and aftersales communication

• Vehicle returns or exchanges

• Any situation requiring the van to come back to the supplying site

The normal distance rule is therefore part of the product’s eligibility requirements, not simply a delivery preference.

Where Do I Collect the Van?

Rent2Buy vehicles are collected from the Southampton and Cadnam area.

Delivery is not included. Once your application, documents and agreement have been completed and the vehicle is ready, you will be asked to attend the collection location in person.

Before the van can be released, you will normally need to provide:

• A valid driving licence

• Proof of full annual comprehensive insurance

• Any outstanding documents

• The remaining initial rental due

• Details for the monthly payment arrangement

The collection date is confirmed only after the vehicle and paperwork are ready.

Do You Cover Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds?

These cities are normally well outside the approximate 100-mile operating area.

A customer may be able to obtain conventional van finance from farther away because finance products do not necessarily use the same geographic rule. Rent2Buy is different because it is an ongoing rental-to-ownership arrangement operated from the Southampton area.

Do You Cover Birmingham?

Birmingham is normally outside the usual Rent2Buy area.

The exact distance depends on the applicant’s full residential postcode, but the customer should not assume that being willing to travel to collect the van removes the location requirement.

Do You Cover Portsmouth?

Portsmouth is generally within the normal distance range from Southampton, although every application is still checked using the customer’s full address and circumstances.

Being within the area does not guarantee approval. Affordability, identity, documents and all other eligibility requirements still apply.

Do You Cover Wales or Scotland?

Most of Wales and all of Scotland are likely to be outside the normal operating area.

Customers in locations close to the English–Welsh border may be assessed using their full postcode, but no exception should be assumed before the Rent2Buy team has reviewed the application.

What If I Am Close to the 100-Mile Boundary?

Customers who believe they are close to the boundary may still submit an application.

The team can check the full residential postcode and confirm whether the location falls within the normal operating area. The decision may also take account of practical collection and ongoing agreement requirements.

Do not pay a reservation or initial rental until the team has confirmed your eligibility and provided payment instructions.

Is Living Within 100 Miles the Only Requirement?

No. Location is only one part of the assessment.

Rent2Buy does not use a traditional credit check, but the application still involves checks relating to:

• Affordability

• Identity

• Residential address

• Driving licence

• Recent bank statements

• Income and regular commitments

• Suitable insurance

• Overall eligibility

A customer can live within the area and still be declined or asked for more information.
