The customer does not normally arrange or pay for the vehicle tax separately during the active rental-to-ownership agreement.

This is different from insurance, servicing and maintenance, which remain the customer’s responsibility.

Is the Van Taxed When I Collect It?

The vehicle should be correctly taxed for use on the road when it is released under the active Rent2Buy agreement.

The supplying team manages the vehicle-tax position while Vansco Limited remains the registered owner or keeper responsible for arranging it under the agreement.

The customer must still make sure all other legal requirements are met, including suitable insurance and a valid driving licence.

How Long Is Vehicle Tax Included?

Vehicle tax is included for the duration of the active Rent2Buy agreement.

This means it remains included while:

• The agreement is active

• Payments are being maintained

• The van remains under the Rent2Buy arrangement

• Ownership has not yet transferred to the customer

It should not be described as “free tax.” It is included as part of the overall agreement and monthly payment.

Do I Need to Renew the Tax Each Year?

The customer does not normally arrange the vehicle-tax renewal while the agreement remains active.

Vansco Limited manages the tax position during that period. The customer should contact the Rent2Buy team if any official notice or concern about the vehicle’s tax status arises.

Do not ignore a warning or continue driving if an official check indicates that the vehicle is not correctly taxed.

What Happens If Tax Rates Increase?

Vehicle-tax rates can change.

The effect of any change should be dealt with according to the agreement and the way the monthly Rent2Buy payment has been structured. Customers should not assume that every future government tax change will automatically reduce or increase the payment by a particular amount.

The team can explain how the current agreement treats any relevant change.

What Happens When I Complete the Agreement?

Once all required payments have been completed and the final purchase process has taken place, ownership can transfer to the customer.

From the point specified during the ownership transfer, the new owner becomes responsible for ensuring that the van is correctly taxed.

Vehicle tax does not normally transfer automatically from one owner to another. The customer should follow the instructions supplied at completion and arrange tax from the correct date.

What Happens If I Return the Van?

Where the van is returned and the agreement ends, responsibility for the vehicle and its tax remains with or returns fully to the vehicle owner.

The customer remains responsible for any unpaid agreement amounts, mileage or damage charges that apply. Ending the agreement does not mean every other amount is automatically cancelled.

What Happens If I Change Vans?

Where an approved exchange takes place, the tax arrangements for each vehicle are managed as part of ending one vehicle arrangement and beginning the replacement arrangement.

The customer should not attempt to transfer tax between vehicles personally. Follow the team’s instructions for the old and replacement vans.

Is Insurance Included With the Tax?

No.

Tax and insurance are separate legal requirements.

The customer must arrange full annual comprehensive insurance before collection and maintain suitable cover throughout the agreement. Rent2Buy does not insure the van for the customer.

Are MOT and Servicing Included?

The van is supplied with a new 12-month MOT or the stated qualifying MOT arrangement at collection, but later MOT requirements become the customer’s responsibility.

The customer is also responsible for ongoing servicing, maintenance and repairs outside the warranty cover.
